In more recent times I have booked a couple photoshoots of senior dogs at my Mississauga Studio and I thought I would share why it is so important to capture these moments.
Our dogs and cats mean so much to us and without even realizing it sometimes, they are such an integral part of our day!
Think about how it makes you feel when they jump on you on the bed on mornings, greet you by the door after a long stressful day, their face when you ask them if they would like to go for a walk or even the funny little shit they do! Well can you now imagine your day without them?
Well this is your cue to book a photoshoot and here are the reasons why!
- Cherish the Memories: As pets age, their personalities and appearances evolve. A photoshoot captures these precious moments, allowing you to remember their unique character for years to come.
- Celebrate Their Life: A photoshoot is a beautiful way to honor your senior pet's life. It serves as a celebration of the bond you share and the joy they bring to your life. These can be hung on your walls or placed on your office desk to live in their memory.
- Professional Quality: Hiring a professional photographer ensures high-quality images that you can proudly display around your home or share with friends and family.
- Capture Their Personality: Older pets often have distinct quirks and expressions. A photoshoot can highlight these traits in a way that everyday snapshots may not. Their facial expressions when licking peanut butter or seeing bubbles for the first time or catching treats are totally priceless moments to be captured in high quality.
- Create Lasting Artwork: Consider transforming the best photos into canvas prints or albums. These pieces can become cherished keepsakes that enhance your home decor.
- Make the Most of Their Golden Years: Senior pets may not have as much time left with us. A photoshoot allows you to create lasting memories and appreciate the time you have together.
- Bonding Experience: The process of preparing for and participating in a photoshoot can be a fun and enjoyable experience, strengthening the bond between you and your pet.
- Gift for Loved Ones: Photos of your senior dogs and cats make meaningful gifts for family and friends who share your love for them. You can purchase a pet photography gift card for birthdays, father's day, mother's day, gotcha day, Christmas etc. What's a better gift idea than giving a pet photoshoot session to your loved one!
- Document Their Journey: These photos can serve as a visual diary of your pet's life, capturing their journey from a lively puppy or kitten to a wise and lovable senior. I do have a client who started doing a photoshoot every year of their pup.
Also, if your dog is a young one, then now is the best time to get their photos done. Recently I have had some senior dogs who were not able to stand on their own very well or even sit. It aches my heart to see them like this but it happens. Take their photos now, while they are young and able to take all the funny shots. Imagine your doggie in sunglasses, nerd glasses, bubbles around them, hats on their head etc.
Then when they become a senior, you get their professional shots done again.
If you're convinced now, check out my page and book your photoshoot session!
You will not regret this!
Yours truly,
Chriselle
